2020 NATIONAL BEER CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday, October 18, the National Beer Championship awards were presented in Barcelona; in previous years, this competition was held as part of the Poble Nou Beer Fair, organized by the shop, La cervecita nuestra de cada día.

It is well known that in this year of the pandemic everything has been disrupted and that the Fair was not held this year, but the championship went ahead, becoming one of the few beer events of the year.

The result of the championship has only reaffirmed what is on everyone's lips: Basqueland Brewing is the best brewery in the country. The 2019 awards were repeated: best brewery, Basqueland Brewing, and best beer, La Pirata.

Interestingly, this year marks the fifth anniversary of these two breweries, thus demonstrating that the craft beer scene is consolidating and that local brewers are reaching high quality levels.

Our friends at La Pirata commemorated it this past October 10. For 5 years, Aran León and his team/family have been brewing their award-winning beers in the Bages region in the heart of Catalonia.

To celebrate La Pirata's 5th anniversary and their award for best beer in the country, we are offering all their beers at a 20% discount.
