Argentine Beers

Argentina inherited its beer culture from immigrants, especially Germans and Austrians, who settled in the country in the 18th century. Many of them founded small factories throughout the country, which eventually formed the fabric of Argentine breweries.

Special mention goes to the Quilmes brewery near Buenos Aires, which over time became an icon within Argentina and more recently the most exported Argentine beer, thanks to the diaspora of Argentines around the world.

Today, there is an incipient craft beer movement severely hit by the crisis in Argentina.
