Zundert

In the quiet abbey of Maria Toevlucht, in the Netherlands, the young brewery trapense Zundert, one of the most recent of the 12 recognized in the world, is born. Its history begins in 2009, when the community of monks decides to start brewing to overcome economic challenges, and they founded the “Trappistenbrouwerij De Kievit”. Three years later, in 2012, they manage to build the factory, driven by the first revenues generated by the sale of their beers.

Zundert currently produces two outstanding varieties: Zundert 8, a rich triple-style beer, and Zundert 10, a powerful and deep quadruple. With each bottle, Zundert offers not only the characteristic flavor of trapping beers, but also a piece of the effort and dedication of a monastic community committed to its tradition.

Zundert beers are considered a Authentic Trappist Product (ATP), a certification that ensures that beer has been produced under strict criteria established by the International Trappist Association. The products with this name meet the following requirements:

1. Produced within a Trappist monastery: Made at the Trappist Abbey of Zundert, located in the Netherlands, by the monks or under their direct supervision.

2. Non-profit: The profits of production are intended for the maintenance of the monastery and for charitable works. Only the amount necessary to sustain the monastic community is sold.

3. High quality and tradition: Beers must respect monastic traditions and maintain high quality standards.

This makes Zundert beers an example of true trapense beer, valued not only for its taste, but also for its ethical and cultural background.
