Hoegaarden

Hoegaarden is not just a Belgian white beer, it is a liquid legacy with more than 500 years of history. It all started in 1445, when monks from the small village of Hoegaarden decided to experiment with wheat, orange skin and cilantro brought from the colonies. The result was a divine recipe that changed the course of beer forever.

During the 18th century, Hoegaarden became a true brewery mecca, with dozens of factories and over a hundred malteries. Although the last brewery closed in 1957, the passion for this witbier was reborn thanks to Pierre Celis, a milkman who became a brewer master who revived the recipe in his barn.

Today, Hoegaarden is synonymous with white beer all over the world. Its refreshing, soft and citrus flavour has conquered palates from Europe to Asia, and 9 out of 10 white beers that are drunk in Belgium bear its name. A classic that combines tradition, innovation and a toastable history.
