Brew York: beer with heart in Yorkshire

One of the most charismatic breweries in the UK was born out of a friendship and a dream. Wayne Smith and Lee Grabham met at a bachelor party and, after sharing their passion for craft beer, began to make recipes at home. In 2016 that hobby became Brew York, a factory in the heart of York with a Tap Room where they can enjoy the beers next to the same tanks where they are created.

What started in a small brewhouse in the city has grown to a modern production plant in Osbaldwick, just 10 minutes away, without losing the original spirit. Each lot remains a declaration of intent: to make the beers that they love to drink, with quality ingredients, varied styles and a lot of creativity. Nowadays it is common to find in its catalog more than 20 fresh references in can, barrel and cask.

Their recipes are nourished by Yorkshire's diversity and culture, amazing ingredients, cocktails and desserts reinterpreted in beer key, and pop, music and cinema references that are reflected in iconic names such as Rhubarbra Streisand, Viking DNA or Dame Judi Quench. That mix of local tradition, experimentation and humor makes every beer memorable.
