Thornbridge Brewery

The story of Thornbridge Brewery begins in 2005, in the heart of Derbyshire, England, on a farm surrounded by gardens and nature: Thornbridge Hall. There, founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster bet on something that at the time seemed a wonderful madness: to set up a brewery in the restored outbuildings of a stately house. They recruited two young brewers and took up the job with a second-hand 10-barrel team. The first result of this adventure was Lord Marples, a classic 4% bitter that still continues today in its main line.

But what really catapulted Thornbridge to fame was his second big step: creating an out of the ordinary IPA. So Jaipur was born, a 5.9% beer, full of American hops, that broke molds and redefined what could be a British IPA. Jaipur won prizes, conquered palates and brought demand to unexpected levels, forcing him to broaden horizons.

In 2009, they moved to a modern plant in Bakewell, where they continue to produce their beers in the same innovative spirit. They still maintain their original team alongside the Taproom, allowing them to experiment, collaborate and launch limited editions. Over the years, their presence has spread throughout England and beyond: today they export to more than 35 countries, including Brazil and with the aim set in Latin America.

Thornbridge is not only synonymous with quality, but also with coherence and creativity. They continue to expand their project with new lines, a spectacular Taproom, own cuisine, shop and events for the brewing community. At Beer Republic we love their philosophy: well-made beers, with character and without losing the essence of the craft. And now, you can also enjoy them!
