Thornbridge: British tradition, innovation
The story of Thornbridge begins in 2005 on the majestic grounds of Thornbridge Hall, surrounded by gardens, nature, and an almost magical atmosphere. There, Jim Harrison and Simon Webster committed to reviving the British brewing spirit with a modern approach. With a second-hand 10-barrel kit and two young brewers eager to break the mold, their first creation was born: Lord Marples, a 4% bitter that remains an emblem to this day.
But the revolution arrived shortly after with Jaipur, a 5.9% IPA loaded with American hops, which redefined what an IPA could be in the UK. That unexpected success led them to expand and move to a new facility in Bakewell in 2009. There, they have continued to grow with consistency, quality, and creativity: a vibrant Taproom, their own kitchen, a shop, events, new product lines, and a presence that now reaches over 35 countries.

Thornbridge Jaipur beer
Jaipur is the beer that changed Thornbridge's history and, for many, the IPA that opened the door to the craft world. Brewed with a heavy load of American hops—Chinook, Centennial, Ahtanum, Simcoe, Columbus, and Cascade—it offers a profile full of grapefruit, lemon, and tropical fruits. All of this rests on a Maris Otter malt base, which provides balance, lightness, and that touch of sweetness that rounds out the whole.

With a generous dry-hop of Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra, and Amarillo, it unfolds a juicy aroma full of tropical fruits, peach, and citrus touches.
