Description

Westmalle Tripel in its 75cl format is an authentic gem of Belgian brewing tradition, a pioneer in the Trappist style. Created during World War II by novice Thomas Sas at Westmalle Abbey, this golden and potent beer, with a second fermentation in the bottle, was the first to use the term "tripel." In 1956, its recipe was perfected to achieve the balance and refinement we know today. With premium ingredients, such as pure spring water, malt, exclusive yeast, hops, and white candi sugar, this beer reflects the excellence of its Trappist designation of origin.

Characteristics:

Style: Tripel

Alcohol content: 9.5% ABV

Hops: Added in three stages during brewing for greater complexity

Serving temperature: 8°C - 12°C

Color (EBC): 12 (Bright golden)

Bitterness (IBU): 36

Character, Flavor, and Aromas:

It surprises with its perfect balance between a moderate bitterness and a dry profile with fruity and spicy notes. Its floral aroma, accompanied by herbal touches, spices, and a sweet nuance, invites you to calmly enjoy each sip. On the palate, its creamy and structured body reflects the complexity of the hops used in three phases, providing an elegant bitterness that is complemented by a rich and persistent mouthfeel.

Culinary pairing:

This 75cl format is perfect for sharing on special occasions and pairing with refined dishes. It stands out alongside fish prepared in "meunière" sauce, stuffed asparagus, or even delicate desserts like sabayon, a classic with a frothy texture and subtle flavor.

A complex and sophisticated 75cl beer experience, ideal for those who appreciate the Trappist tradition.

------------------------------------------------------

Westmalle beers are considered an Authentic Trappist Product (ATP), a certification that guarantees that the beer has been produced under strict criteria established by the International Trappist Association. Products with this designation meet the following requirements:

1. Produced within a Trappist monastery: Brewed in the Trappist abbey of Westmalle, located in Belgium, by the monks or under their direct supervision.

2. Non-profit: The profits from production are used for the maintenance of the monastery and for charitable works. Only the amount necessary to support the monastic community is sold.

3. High quality and tradition: The beers must respect monastic traditions and maintain high quality standards.

This makes Westmalle beers an example of authentic Trappist beer, valued not only for their flavor but also for their ethical and cultural background.
