Imported Beers

Unfortunately, our country has never been known for producing indigenous beer styles; that is, we have always looked at what the major beer-producing countries were doing to adapt their brewing trends. National producers have made beer with the climate and Mediterranean culture in mind; the goal was for their beers to quench the thirst and refresh the hordes of tourists in the 60s and 70s of the last century.

In the early 90s, a generation of new drinkers sought something more than a refreshment; they needed more flavor, more aroma. This could only be found in a burgeoning market for imported beers, primarily from Belgium and Germany, the two major beer-producing countries.

Since then, the major brands from these countries have "educated" thousands of beer fans, creating generations of beer hunters, or experience hunters. Many of our current national Craft beer gurus began their journey in this sea of beers by drinking imported Belgian and German beer.

Over the years, other beer-producing countries have joined the list; today, we can find a multitude of beers from different countries, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, or the United States. Here you will find the best from each country.
