Blonde Ale

The Blonde Ale is a top-fermented blonde beer designed to be accessible, easy-drinking, and highly balanced. It is a relatively modern style, popularized in the U.S. and many European microbreweries as a bridge between commercial lagers and craft beer: it offers more aromatic complexity than an industrial pilsner without intimidating the beginner consumer.

In the glass, it shows a light to deep golden color, usually with good clarity, and a creamy, well-retained white head. The nose features soft notes of cereal, bread, light honey, fresh grass, and a floral or citrusy touch from the hops. The yeast provides very subtle esters. On the palate, it has a medium-low body, with a soft malty sweetness, lively carbonation, gentle bitterness (15-28 IBU), and a clean, dry finish. The alcohol content ranges between 4% and 5.5%, making it a very sessionable beer.

It is brewed with pilsner and pale malts, occasionally with a touch of wheat malt or light caramel malt to add body, European or American hops in measured doses, and neutral or slightly fruity ale yeasts.

It is a very versatile beer at the table: it pairs with salads, chicken, baked fish, pasta, pizza, mild cheeses, or light soups. It also works very well as an aperitif. Serve between 6 °C and 8 °C in a pint glass or tulip glass. The perfect choice for a first beer of the evening, a hot day, or whenever you want something easy without sacrificing flavor.
